Yolik Nal
The Multiverse
Yolik Nal
(b. 1987 in Tarnów) an artist working with ceramics and painting. She lives and works in Tarnów. In 2014, she graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, with a diploma from Prof. Krzysztof Tomalski’s studio of engraving. She predominantly creates large-format oil paintings and ceramics, and constantly experiments with materials and techniques in a search for new ways of artistic expression. In her work, Nal regularly returns to the question of oppositions — she conveys a vision of a world full of a variety of parallel contradictions. This duality is an infinite source of reflection, amazement, and inspiration that are especially visible in her paintings, in which – besides realism, predominantly used to depict human figures – there exists another world, dense with abstract forms and textures. Nal’s ceramics typically correspond to her paintings, serving as a kind of post script clarifying the world built by the artist.
