About us

  • The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art is an institution whose main focus is contemporary art in Poland and around the world. It presents, creates, researches and documents works by contemporary artists, with a particular emphasis on an interdisciplinary approach. Ujazdowski is also an important link in the global network of art institutions; for many years it has been cooperating with many similar centres abroad, e.g. in providing artistic residencies. It has also conducted a wide range of educational and publishing activities.

  • Publications by the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, invariably created in cooperation with outstanding graphic artists, are distinguished by their quality content, outstanding editorial level and highly original form. The publishing programme includes occasional prints connected with exhibitions and other Ujazdowski events, as well as classical publications books about art and artists, including unquestionable rarities: works by the artists themselves. Publications accompanying exhibitions take various forms from small guides, used as an introduction to an event, through more or less extensive catalogues, to art books which are sometimes an event in their own right. Ujazdowski‘s publications include cross-sectional publications summarizing important trends or distinct periods in the history of contemporary art not just Polish art.
