- In February, the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (IAM) invited artists to apply for residencies at ARC Bucharest, which will take place in the second half of 2026. From among many applicants, Gabriela Piwar was selected. The jury also acknowledged applications of Kamila Szejnoch and Katarzyna Mazur.
- Gabriela Piwar
- An intermedia artist and graduate of the Faculty of Media Art and the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She is a co-creator of the Parsęta Project, dedicated to the section of the Parsęta River flowing through the village of Krosino.
- In her artistic practice, she explores relationships between people, plants, and natural phenomena, creating installations, textiles, and sculptural objects. Her work often involves collecting, documenting, and transforming elements of the natural environment, together with the narratives and stories connected to them.
- Her works have been presented, among others, during the 15th edition of the Warsaw Under Construction festival, as part of the 5th International Symposium of Contemporary Sculpture at the Polish Sculpture Centre in Orońsko, and at the Rooms 2022 young art exhibition in Prague. She is the recipient of the ENTRY Initiative Award 2025 and was awarded a scholarship by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2023.
