Marc Hunziker

is a visual artist and creator of installations and performances based on active audience participation. He is interested in new policies of resistance – against oppressive housing policies, discrimination against minorities, or broadly defined commercialisation. In his work, he deals with topics related to institutional criticism, guerrilla activism, and collective actions. An important aspect of his practice is the operation of the self-organising Up State exhibition space in Zurich, and the POOL project – a mobile pool party. Marc Hunziker has shown his work at Kunsthalle Zürich, Kunsthalle Freiburg, SSZ Sued in Cologne, and The Solution in Prague. In 2017, he was nominated for the Swiss Art Award.

As part of his residency at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, he co-created the second edition of To Be Real project.
