Cubo Race
The Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art, artists Franco Ariaudo and Emanuele De Donno, and the curator of the project City Garden Jazdów – Anna Czaban – invite you to take part in the unconventional sporting event Cubo Race, which will be preceded by a workshop on sewing sportswear.
Cubo Race is a team game in which anyone can participate, regardless of their age or fitness levels. The teams of players must balance cubes on sticks, and the team that reaches the finish line first, wins the race. The goal is to practice teamwork, but above all, to have fun! To make the game even more spectacular, the participants will play in specially designed costumes, which will have been created together with fashion designer Małgorzata Salamon at the sewing workshop preceding the race.
Cubo Race is a game that was first created for the television show Giochi senza Frontiere (French: Jeux Sans Frontiers, English: Games Without Borders), which was first played on the Italian beach of Riccione in 1971. Ariaudo and Donno analyze the phenomenon of this television show, which from the 1960s to the 1990s appeared in various European countries. The idea behind these shows is, besides the titled sport without barriers, to build a European community. Will Cubo Race contribute to the building of a Jazdów community?
