Do nieznanej ziemi
After fleeing a refugee camp in Lebanon, Palestinian cousins Chatila and Reda find themselves stranded in Athens, living in a state of limbo with no clear future or sense of belonging. Dreaming of reaching Germany and finally building a new life, they resort to increasingly risky schemes to raise the money for fake passports. But their desperate pursuit of a better future soon spirals out of control, forcing them to cross ever more dangerous boundaries—including their own.
Mahdi Fleifel’s debut fiction is an emotional drama-thriller inspired by real-life experiences, combining the sensibility of documentary filmmaking with the energy of 1970s Hollywood cinema.
