Illusion – Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art

Marta Minorowicz’s feature debut is a poignant and mysterious story about the strength of the human spirit, coping with difficult experiences and rediscovering oneself. Agata Buzek in the leading role, with her natural spirituality and unique aura, brought a touch of noir atmosphere to the film. The wintry mood of the Polish coast, especially the desolate seaside landscapes captured by Paweł Chorzępa’s camera, emphasize the obscurity and suspense in this unusual mystery drama.

• The sudden disappearance of the daughter has taken its toll on the lives of Hanna (Agata Buzek) and her husband (Marcin Czarnik). Each of them faces the situation in their own way. Hanna rejects the worst possible scenario, believing that she will finally manage to find her beloved child. When all methods fail, she decides to conduct her own investigation and search for her daughter until the end. Gradually, she becomes lost and finds it difficult to distinguish reality from illusion. The painful experiences strengthen her powers of observation, allowing her to perceive beyond the limits of wonder.
