Animals and More Animals
[Un animal, des animaux], directed by Nicolas Philibert, France 1996, 59'
Museums of natural history are huge and noble mausoleums. Death, however, is placed there in the scientific framework and subordinated to the logic of exposure. Nicolas Philibert takes a close look at these animals, their stuffed bodies, and once again asks questions about looking at animals in the context of human institutions.
