Even Mice Belong in Heaven

[Myši patří do nebe], directed by Jan Bubeníček and Denisa Grimmová, Czech Republic / France / Poland / Slovakia 2021, 87'

  • An inspiring animation about courage and a seemingly impossible friendship between eternal enemies: a mouse and a fox, who are unexpectedly thrown into a vortex of adventure in the afterlife.

    • Even though the mouse is sometimes terribly scared, she will do anything not to reveal it. She is very stubborn and showing off is her speciality. She wants to be the fastest, the cleverest and the bravest at all costs. To prove it, she will even risk an encounter with a fox. Unluckily, instead of surviving, they end up in a land which turns out to be heaven. Still, this is not the end of the adventure, on the contrary! A bumpy road awaits the protagonists, who will have to cross hot springs, solve puzzles in a bizarre amusement park and face the dark forest. The most difficult task, however, turns out to be overcoming their own fears and deep-rooted prejudices.
  • Will they manage to find a common language? This story proves that nothing is impossible in friendship!
    • The film was made with stop-motion puppetry technique, and more than half of the puppets used in the production were manufactured in Poland.
