    • No man is an island is an audiovisual journey through the south of Ukraine. The three-part picture paints a poetic image of unreachable Crimea, reminiscences of peaceful Mariupol, as well as documents a dramatic time which Suren Voskanyan, one of the musicians collaborating on the film, experienced in Mariupol when it was under occupation.
  • The rich sound layer of the film is built from Crimean sea waves, wind and cicadas, snippets of conversations and laughter of once peaceful Mariupol’s residents, the sounds of the Azov Sea and the Azovstal. Field recordings are interwoven with music played on duduk, baglama, tambourine, saxophone, and clarinet.
