This 1983 grotesque musical portrays a group of American transgender individuals and drag queens living in Berlin in the early 1980s. Rosa von Praunheim gives them a platform for glamorous, provocative, and taboo-free self-expression.

Among these wild and eccentric artists are New York Black drag queen Angie Stardust, transgender punk singer Jayne County, cross-dresser Tara O'Hara, and Cuban performer Joaquin La Habana.
