Daniel and Clemens fall in love, move in together, and try to imitate the model of a traditional marriage. When their relationship ends after four months, Daniel plunges deeper into the Berlin gay subculture. He works in a gay café and frequents gay cruising spots such as parks and public toilets.

Eventually, he meets Paul in a drag bar, who invites him to his gay commune. There, discussions take place regarding alternative living models for homosexual people.
