Silver

directed by Natalia Koniarz, Poland/ Finland/ Norway 2025, 78'

The dark corridors of the mine consume the innocent, who sacrifice their health and lives for shimmering ore. A mesmerizing yet terrifying film about the invisible victims of neo-capitalism.

Silver is a documentary film that takes viewers to the heart of Bolivia, beneath the surface of Cerro Rico, a mountain that has devoured human lives for centuries. In a place where the ground literally trembles under the blows of pickaxes, Natalia Koniarz portrays the brutal reality of people living and dying in the shadow of the silver mine. Three protagonists, a boy, a woman, and an old miner, serve as guides through a world where child labor is the norm and the boundary between survival and death blurs amid clouds of dust.
