{Background Check} #12
{Background Check} is an informal, intimate series of architecture gatherings — a lecture by an invited guest followed by a short Q&A and discussion. We invite practices from outside the broadly understood mainstream. We are interested in bold voices and topics that appear less frequently in professional discourse.
The focus of our meetings is design in the context of contemporary challenges: the planet’s diminishing resources, the carbon footprint of the construction industry, and its impact on the climate crisis. We ask whether it is possible to build in a different, less harmful way.
On 11 June, Maciej Siuda — architect and author of the bookshop project at the Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art — will talk about his work.
The meeting will not be recorded or streamed, as we value open conversation and truly listening to one another.
