Decorative Interior Elements by Dominika Olszowy – Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art

On 28 November at 7 p.m., we invite you to the opening of Dominika Olszowy's exhibition Decorative Interior Elements.

• Decorative Interior Elements is an exhibition about coping with crises. We attend to what we can influence: we surround ourselves with an environment that allows us to recover and restore balance.

The exhibition will include video works embedded in post-internet aesthetics and spatial installations composed of the artist’s sculptures. Olszowy typically uses simple materials, drawing on the existential potential of everyday objects. She renders them surreal, transforming them into building blocks for a world suspended between fantasy and a strangely appealing nightmare. Her exhibitions resemble materialised images, in which each object contributes to intricate narratives shaped by a theatrical imagination.

• The familiar yet surreal atmosphere of these works invites every sensitive viewer to feel at home here – in a world that seems strangely recognisable and entirely unreal.
