Wykopki [The Potato Harvest] — A Performative-Culinary Event
- Hidden from the sun and rain, they store the energy of damp soil. Tubers — the treasure of the pantry, the student’s superfood, the secret to detox, the shame of the fridge, the pride of the nation, energy bombs. Wrapped in clay, warmed by fire, the honest, cooperative tubers from the Dobrze Coop will appear in the park surrounding the castle to nourish those who watch their step.
- It takes a village to grow a potato. It takes farmers who care for the land. It takes people who care for the farmers. Out of this care, the Dobrze Food Cooperative was born — a place of cooperation and a community committed to healthy and fair food.
- We invite you to join us in baking and eating tubers! While covering vegetables in clay, we will share a speculative narrative about the energy stored under the skin, the act of harvesting, and the subversive power of gathering.
-
About the Dobrze Food Cooperative:
- “There’s much more than a tuber on the shelves of the Coop’s shops. We know the farmers we work with personally — we support them and pay them fairly. We ensure the crops are free from harmful substances, and shopping with us doesn’t require scrutinising the ingredients list. Every day, we work to make ecological and local food accessible to all. The Coop is made up of members and customers who, through their purchases, make a conscious decision and bring our shared vision to life — that everyone should have it Dobrze (well)!”

Eliza Chojnacka i Pola Salicka
- Eliza and Pola have been friends since their shared gardening and artistic activities with the Krzak Cooperative in Jazdów — from sewing balaclavas and shaping clay cups in the Beatrix Editions project, to hosting many a feast with friends.
- Eliza Chojnacka is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice incorporates painting, cooking, cleaning, and collective dreaming. She is part of the texpol group and active at Floating University in Berlin.
- Pola Salicka is a designer and artist. She is part of Zakole, a group working around the wetland in Zakole Wawerskie. She creates situations, installations, workshops, and site-specific works — often in collaboration and alliance.
