Emergency residencies for Ukrainian artists

Open call for residencies in Warsaw in spring 2023

  • In 2023, Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art is offering two-month-long residencies for artists from Ukraine who live in Ukraine, as a continuation of its Emergency Residency Program.
    • The Emergency Residency Program is designed to provide artists with an opportunity to continue their artistic practice, offering a safe place to live and work, as well as financial support. In 2023, the residency period will be extended to allow the artists to better develop their research or artistic project, work for the benefit of the communities in Warsaw and displaced people from Ukraine in Poland, and establish professional connections with cultural practitioners in Poland.
  • We would like the activity of artists in our institution to result in an exhibition in 2024, summarizing the experiences of our residents from Ukraine.
  •
  • The residence covers the following costs and provides the following opportunities for participants
    • → a subsidy of 9000 PLN (for 2 months), which includes travel expenses;
    • → free accommodation (living-working studio) for two months starting from 26th of April, 2023;
