  • When singing, we intensively work our diaphragm and upper respiratory tract, body ventilation increases and oxygenates the internal organs – especially the heart and brain. During a breathing warm-up, you may experience a variety of physical sensations: dizziness, pressure changes or the acceleration of the heart rate; these effects are similar to those that athletes feel when they train, or to those that we feel after actively spending time outside. During the workshops, we will learn the basics of breathing and voice emission, which vocalists use to control the vocal apparatus. By using a technique called white voice, participants learn the possibilities of their body, especially the vocal aspects. After individual exercises as well as breathing and emission tasks, the participants will also experience what is common breathing and sound, which create a sense of unity with a group, e.g. such as singing in a choir. To participate in the workshops, we invite individual adults as well as the representatives of the institution and organization of Jazdów – it will be the moment of the launch and inauguration of the Ujazdów Neighborhood Choir.

    • Conducted by: Anna Kierkosz
Special guests: Joanna Maluga, VRC Choir

    • Wake up!

      • park in front of the Castle, Ujazdowski Courtyard

      • Free admission

    • The concert Wake up! is an attempt to look into the space between waking and sleeping, intense movement and seeming stillness. It will take place at City Garden Jazdów and in the courtyard of the Ujazdowski Castle. The VRC Choir is an experiment at the junction of contemporary and early music. It is looking for innovative ways of implementing concerts. This time, the stage where the choral concert will be performed will be quite unusual: the breathing and vocal warm-up will be performed amid the space of the "sports town" in the space in front of the Ujazdowski Castle, and the consonance full of possibilities – in the acoustically attractive space of the castle’s courtyard. The choir is a resident of the National Audiovisual Institute. The concert will be accompanied by visualizations on the facade of the Ujazdowski Castle, created by Jakub Stępnia Hakobo.
