Nagi Gianni
Screens, Sand Dunes and the Contours of Your Face
In Screens, Sand Dunes and the Contours of Your Face Nagi Gianni, together with international team of performers and artists, embodies the potential of self-projection, encounter with otherness and alienation.
During the two-hour performative installation the artists explores the concepts of body extensions in the perspective of technologies shaping our everyday-life and opening to uncertain futures. He is interested in the ways we relate to our environment, to each other and to ourselves. He pararelly developes concepts such as “layering reality”, “identity as multiplicity”, “materiality and dematerialisation of the body”. On the basis of collaboration with Kasia Pol he transforms a room at the Ujazdowski Castle into an “open-space for (self-)projection”.
The event is also a result of personal encounters, friendships and artistic cooperation experienced by the Swiss artist in Warsaw. “There is something very precious in this this bond between people, which in the actual political climate raises in me an even stronger consciousness over freedom, inclusivity and diversity.”
