Kamila Kamińska
Phantoms and Membranes
Kamila Kamińska
(b. 1996) is a recent graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2023). Her artistic experiments go beyond traditionally understood painting: she employ sewn and stitched linen fabric and treats paintings as objects. The artist is interested in fashion canons and the cultural phenomenon of the body. While her artworks vary in scale and visual appeal, their recurring theme is carnal sensuality and fashion inspirations. Skill and method, intelligence, and contemplation of the nature of the image are the distinguishing features of Kamińska’s painting universe created with the use of yellow tempera and raw linen canvas. Kamińska’s artworks featured in a number of solo and group exhibitions. She is the winner of the competition culminating the annual international artistic residence in Pieńków (2023).
