Tymek Borowski

Theory and practice

Tymek Borowski

(born in 1984) studied painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the supervision of Professor Leon Tarasewicz. For several years he painted surreal images, invented non-existent artists, played with conventions and winked at the spectator. One day, after the exhibition Cut the jokes in Warsaw Kolonie Gallery, he decided, that this has become a drag. So he left the safe trenches of irony and went in search of a meaningful culture. Presently he is exploring theory and practice of reality, and most recently he is becoming involved in a project from the borderland of art and fields which are more practical.
