Handmade notebooks

Bookbinding workshop with Weronika Kanigowska

On the first day of the Nobody Reads This: Art Book Fair, 22 May 2026 from 1:00 p.m. till 4 p.m., there will be a bookbinding workshop with Weronika Kanigowska.

During the workshop, we will create our own softcover notebooks in A5 format, sewn with a decorative French stitch and an open spine. Together, we will walk through the entire bookbinding process from preparing the folds, through sewing, to creating the binding. The interior will be lined with 120g Munken Polar paper, prized for its smoothness and durability, ideal for writing and drawing. Each participant will be able to design their own cover from bold, decorative forms to more minimalistic and minimalistic solutions, depending on their individual ideas and aesthetic choices. A wide selection of threads, papers, and accessories will be available on-site, giving each notebook a unique character. The workshop itself will provide an opportunity for creativity, experimenting with form, and working on their own unique object.
