Obieg No. 10: Becoming Earth
Edited by Krzysztof Gutfrański
The Earth is becoming something different than what it used to be. The scale and pace of changes that it is being subjected to makes it extremely difficult to understand them. It seems, however, that the concept of destructive plasticity (proposed by Catherine Malabou) allows us to think about what is happening around us without going into an apocalyptic fright. The tenth issue of Obieg deals with how materiality is shaping the phenomenon of changes, how they in turn become the Earth, and how – through them – the Earth becomes something else.
